The first Monday of May has arrived, meaning the Met Gala is back for 2023.
Hot off the red carpet, celebrity hair stylist and Color Wow Global Creative Director, Chris Appleton, has shared a step-by-step breakdown of how to recreate Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala hair look.
To recreate Kim’s 2023 ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’ look, Chris tapped into a range of Color Wow products:
Step 1 | Chris started off by prepping her hair with Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray to ensure hair was ultra smooth, glossy and frizz free.
Step 2 | For maximum volume, he then used a hair dryer (we recommend the O2 Hyperonic Hair Dryer), paired with Color Wow Raise the Root throughout the root area while blow drying in the opposite direction.
Step 3 | Appleton then used a hair straightener section by section (try the Fusion SlickTouch Standard Straightening Iron), wrapping the hair around the iron to create curls while polishing the fringe in front that is left out.
Step 4 | Once all the hair was curled, he sprayed a texturizing spray throughout for additional volume and memory - we love using Color Wow Style on Steroids.
Step 5 | Without brushing the curls out, Chris put the hair up into a modern-day French twist leaving out hair at the top and side fringe. Lastly, he used hairspray for a finishing touch (our customers love Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray), ensuring a look that lasts.
