TIPS TO TELL CLIENTS TO MAINTAIN HAIR COLOUR

- Explain to them about how long different colours last to set their expectations: For example, red hair dye tends to lose colour faster than other colours due to the size of the dye molecules
- Frequency of hair washing is important: Coloured hair should be washed less often to avoid unnecessary colour loss. Don’t forget to mention that upon dying hair, it shouldn’t be washed for the next 72 hours to allow the colour to penetrate the hair.
- You can still wash your hair between days: Just make sure it’s a dry colour-safe shampoo and conditioner.
- Keep the water temp down: Super-hot water leaches colour from their hair, so keep it on the cooler side rather than burning hot.
