Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health by addressing mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.
This year, The Barbiere Company and Haircare Group are joining forces in support of Movember by spreading awareness and encouraging barbers and hairdressers to participate in raising funds in the name of men’s health.
We know that barbershops and salons are a safe space for many men, where a welcome ear can often be found. In the chair, men aren’t as intimidated and are more likely to feel comfortable about opening up which makes it the perfect environment to spread awareness and raise funds for Movember.
In the scenario that the conversation surrounding Movember turns to a client of staff member opening up about personal experiences, you can ensure you are prepared to navigate the conversation through Movember Conversations - an easy-to-use interactive online tool that offers practical guidance.
HOW you and your barbershop or Salon CAN Get involved
GROW A MO
Patchy, lopsided, itchy or epic – whatever Mo you grow this Movember, your face will raise funds and awareness for men’s health. Mo rules: start the first day of Movember clean-shaven, then let your Mo take the spotlight.
MOVE FOR MOVEMBER
Run or walk 60km over the month. That’s 60km for the 60 men we lose to suicide each hour. 60km seem a bit out of reach or want to go even larger? No worries, adjust your goal and style of exercise to suit you.
MO YOUR OWN WAY
Activations! Plan an activation at your barbershop or salon with proceeds going to Movember. Some ideas:
- $10 from every haircut donated to Movember
- Do a raffle with proceeds donated
- Create your own team challenge

Create an account at movember.com/register to start your individual account/Mo space. Pro Fundraising tip: Keep your QR code on your phone (found on your Mo profile) so people can scan to donate.
START A TEAM FOR YOUR STAFF OR JOIN AN EXISTING TEAM
If you are starting a team, you'll become the team 'Captain' and manage the team's Mo space. The Captain can share the team link or QR code to participants to join.
